Early morning we leave La Paz towards Huitucocha near the domains of the Chachacomani – Negruni mountain range. After a 3-hour trip, we reach Lake Chokñakjota at 4,420m/14,498ft. From here, we start our 5 hours trekking to our first camp.Day 2: Ajwani – Jurikhota camp:
Today we cross the Janchallani pass (4,850m/15,908ft) and then later on the Jurikhota pass at 4,800m in our way down to our camping spot at the Jurikhota Lagoon. This day we will have 6 hours of continuous trekking. B, LB, D.Day 3: Jurikhota camp – Chiarkhota (Mount Condoriri camp):
6 hours trekking. Starting from the west side of the Jurikhota Lagoon, we trek east towards the base of the highest pass at 5,100m/16,728ft and known as the Apacheta pass. While crossing this beautiful pass we can already see the Condoriri Peak and other steep rocky and snowy mountains. Descend to the shores of the beautiful Condoriri lagoon (4,650m). Camp surrounded by a spectacular circle of mountains. B, LB, D.
Day 4: Chiarkhota - Liviñosa Lagoon:
Today we have to deal with two high passes, the Agua Negra Pass at 5,000m (16,400ft) with good views of the Condoriri and Huayna Potosí and the Zongo Sistaña High Pass at 4,970m (1,6301ft). Lunch box on the way. This high pass connects with the Pre-Inca trail that leads for 6 or 7 hrs to the Liviñosa Lagoon. Dinner and overnight. B, LB, D.
Day 5: Liviñosa Lagoon – Botijlaca - La Paz:
After breakfast by the Liviñosa Lagoon, we trek for about 3 hours down to Botijlaca village. The steep valley shows more subtropical vegetation just above the Zongo cloud forests. You will pass the Botijlaca Hidroelectrical Station. From here, we return by car to the city of La Paz, ascending the Zongo Valley. On the way back to La Paz, we will enjoy great views of Mount Huayna Potosí and its glaciers. Transfer to your hotel. B.
