Starting from the town of Uyuni, we will take you along the impressive Salt Desert with our first visit to Colchani, a typical artisanal salt extracting village. We continue towards the Salar de Uyuni where we visit the Incahuasi Island, an interesting hilly outcrop in the middle of the salt desert. On the summit of this hill covered by giant cactus, we can find remains of the Inca culture. After lunch and a short rest, we drive across the Salar de Uyuni to visit the Galaxy Cave, an interesting geological formation. Here we will also visit the Devil´s cave where we find well-preserved antique mummies. We then head to our final visit, the Train Cemetery, located 3 km outside Uyuni and connected to the city by old train tracks. The rail construction started in 1888 and ended in 1892. At that time, mining companies mostly used the trains for mining activities which ended in the 1940s. As a result many of the trains were abandoned at this place now known as the train cemetery. After our visit we will drive back to Uyuni.
